"This email is fake and has the sole and exclusive purpose of collecting bank details, through a method known as Phishing, so you should ignore this message, do not respond to it and report spam, as well as delete it".
The PJ's National Unit to Combat Cybercrime and Technological Crime (UNC3T) says that "various citizens" have already received the message in question.
The note released by the PJ recommends that people delete this type of message and that they publicise the alert to avoid new victims of possible electronic scams.
The PJ also calls for never accessing "'links' or attachments in strange emails" and to be wary of "sensationalist news and offers", noting: "Credible and serious institutions do not use these means/ways to communicate with customers".
