New rules which have been approved by government have made Spain the first country in the European Union to offer menstrual leave to women who experience “incapacitating periods”.

According to Positive.News: “The pioneering bill is part of a broader law that also includes the free provision of menstrual products in schools and prisons. Last year, Scotland became the first country to guarantee the right to a free period.
