A very windy day today with strong and gusty southwest to west winds, very strong in the west and southwest with gales on coasts and a risk of coastal flooding around high tide times. Widespread heavy showers through the day, turning to more persistant spells of rain at times, with highest temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees.
Friday - Night
The rain and showers will become mostly confined to Atlantic coastal counties on Friday night with clear dry spells developing elsewhere. Lowest temperatures 3 to 5 degrees as strong westerly winds ease overnight.
Saturday - Day
A mixed day of bright sunny spells and scattered showers on Saturday, there is the possibility of a spell of more persistent rain affecting southern counties for a time. Highest temperatures 10 to 13 degrees with light winds to moderate westerly winds.
Saturday - Night
Clear spells with the occasional isolated shower throughout Saturday night. Lowest temperatures zero to plus 2 degrees in moderate northerly breezes.
Sunday - Day
Sunday is due to be drier with some sunny spells and isolated showers, mainly affecting the north and northeast of the country. Highest temperatures 7 to 10 degrees in a moderate to fresh northerly breeze.
Sunday - Night
A cold, clear and dry night will see the temperatues dropping to below zero degrees. High risk of frost forming.
