With The Reality of Revelation’s Prophecy and Fulfillment Seminar under spotlight, even in midst of COVID Pandemic, this unusual growth and expansion of the Shincheonji Church of Jesus Tabernacle of Testimony (Chairman Man-Hee Lee, Shincheonji Church of Jesus) has brought extra attention especially in its worldwide growth.
Recently, 280 churches in 15 countries having changed their signboards to “Schincheonji Church of Jesus,” has brought much attention. Shincheonji Church of Jesus has continuously signed MOUs with overseas churches, but this is the first time that an overseas church has requested a transfer to Shincheonji Church of Jesus.
According to Schincheonji Church of Jesus, one of sixth churches in 15 countries, including the Philippines, India, Madagascar, South Africa, Guatemala, Mexico, and Argentina, put the name Shincheonji Church of Jesus on their church signboard and requested that they receive the education.
A total of 427 pastors belong to these requesting churches and the number of members reaches 24,000.
The movement to put the name of the denomination on the church signboard and teach the words of Shincheonji Church of Jesus began early this year at the request of the head of a branch of a certain denomination in Madagascar.
“The denomination has no interest to care for the members and the church. I want to revive the soul-wounded saints and the church.”
The delegation from the southern branch of a religious denomination in Madagascar, who visited Shincheonji Church of Jesus in Madagascar last January, requested Shincheonji Church of Jesus to change its name.
And they proposed to teach the Word to 5,000 members of 33 local churches.
In addition, it is reported that 33 churches in Uganda and 151 churches in India also replaced the signboards with the name of “Shincheonji Church of Jesus” engraved on them.
Shincheonji Church of Jesus achieved exponential growth last year, producing a total of 106,186 graduates from the Zion Christian Mission Center. This is in start contract to major denominations that have suffered from a drop in membership since the pandemic.
After the pandemic, various seminars were held ‘online’ and the operation of mission centers have increased its accessibility to the Word, which an analysis say have increased the interest of people.
In fact, the online seminar of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, which has been released on YouTube last year, including eight seminars by Chairman Man-Hee Lee, was broadcasted all over the world in 24 languages and recorded a total cumulative view of about 20.98 million.
Especially, after the 100,000 graduation ceremony last year, interest in Schincheonji Church of Jesus has increased in overseas religious circles.
A person in charge of overseas missions at Shincheonji Church of Jesus predicted, “Not only in Madagascar, but also from overseas after the 100,000 graduation ceremony at Shincheonji Zion Christian Mission Center last year, requests for educational support and transfer will increase. This movement is expected to continue to accelerate.”
And “these churches are requesting instructors be dispatched to teach directly, so they are selecting overseas missionaries from Korea and sending them to the requested places. Even a church that has changed its signboard can only be educated on a request and by the consent of the members.” He added.
Currently, the number of exchange MOUs between churches has been signed in 78 countries and 5,830 cases, among which 3,700 pastors are learning the words of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the church stated.
